One must take into consideration the Time.
Soothe Time’s ego, that’s the way, wax more sublime.
You’ll find, like as not, Time will do your bidding.
I’ve found it myself. Er, no, I’m not kidding.
Time and I, you see, weren’t always best of friends.
We’re still not, but I have tried to make amends
which is not to say that Time will always do
exactly what I want or hope or need Time to.
But often, I can look Time right in the eye
and Time will look right back at me, smiling so wry
with pleasure like a certain cat. I’m not sure if
I’ve truly understood yet all of Time’s mischief.
And consid’ring how all things must end in due Time,
it seems to me Time’s come to end my little rhyme.
