30 Days of Madisonnets, Day 30

Another from October 2011. Again, a simple phrase turned round.

Has it slipped your mind or has your mind slipped it?
In either case, if that’s the case, you might try a bit
of glue next time you have something to remember.
I’ve heard it works quite well from May to September,
but in the colder months, you may well wish to try
a stronger concoction that will help you to tie
the pieces of your scattered brain back together,
and wrap around your mind lighter than a feather.
Maybe some snaps will help, though if they got rusty,
they might come undone, crack up or become dusty.
I might have something else inside my bag of tricks
that will almost certainly help you to affix
those mem’ries in the spaces where they ought to fit--
you’ve quite enough holes in there, by the look of it.
