Yes, of course it’s fun to write, but sometimes there's just so much of it to do, and still more, and more yet again! This sonnet is for such times.
We’re done today with writing! We have had enough
of parsing prose, punctuation and all that stuff!
Staring so long at the page can send one reeling
round the bend all the way to Wits’ End and feeling
like one who’s underwater, coming up for air--
gasping, stretching, losing hope, sending up a flare--
when, at last, a rescuing hand pulls you ashore,
but by then, you don’t know where you are anymore!
Blazing sun, burning sand. . . what is this, a vision?
Falling upon the ground, you make a decision
to let this be the ultimate, last, final time
you’ll let yourself be sucked under, into the brine.
For as they say, “Time to go when the going’s tough,”
Though sometimes, it’s hard to know when enough’s enough.

When the tasks pile up and you need a break, what do you do? I get on the yoga mat and do some standing poses. And then I'll have a cup of tea. Comment below on your favorite way to take a break.
