How many of you have tried, and failed, at “time management”? This sonnet is for you.
Time will not be managed, but will negotiate
if you are quite sincere and will, at any rate,
be considerate of Time’s sensibilities,
Time’s need to ebb and flow and move about with ease,
which brings to mind the play of ocean onto beach--
there is oh so much that such beauty has to teach
us about the nature of. . . Upon reflection,
let us return to the subject of connection
‘twixt the moments past, present, future, and explore
exactly what you’d like Time to do. And as for
what Time will charge you, well, it goes without saying
that Time will accept what you are used to paying.
As long as said payments are never, ever late,
yes, you and Time can manage to negotiate!
