You know how sometimes you hear a well-worn phrase and then flip it over in your mind to see what happens? No? Well, it's something Madison and I do with regulariTEA, hence, the opening line of this rhyme:
Time wounds all heels, or heals all wooden spoons. It’s true!
But that is not the least of the things old Time can do.
Time can vanish instantly, and without warning.
Time can drag tediously from night through morning.
Time can run forward, backward, sideways, slantways, on
a straightaway, in circles or a marathon.
Time can be illusionary, like many dreams
or quite delusionary, melting into streams.
Time, once he’s underway, may put cart before horse,
and when Time’s had enough of that, Time will change course!
Time refuses to be gagged or bound by the rules.
Those who may think otherwise are, quite simply, fools.
Time’s all of this and more--you must give Time his due.
Who knows what might happen should Time come after you?
