Moon, hide not from me, for I’ve done nothing to you!
Don’t count me among those who would misconstrue you
as the one who monthly drives us from our wits.
I, myself, am living proof that there’s no truth in it.
I have lived at Wits’ End for quite a long time now,
so many seasons gone that I forget just how
I got here. But I do know, Luna great and fair,
that you had no hand in it, and that those who dare
say otherwise shall answer mightily to me.
I will gladly stand against all who slander thee!
For in thy gentle growth and ebbing I find
such wisdom as calms the nerves and soothes the mind.
Moon, I fear that I’m only one of a few who
could not love another so much as I do you!
